Compassionate, affirming therapy for children, teens, and young adults
I'm Dr. Courtney Cross, a Florida-licensed psychologist since 2022. I help people ages 8 to 35 with anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, focus, and identity, by secure video from anywhere in Florida or any PSYPACT-participating state.
Self-pay, with superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards accepted.
Who I work with
Children, 8 to 11
School, friendships, self-confidence, and managing emotions can be hard at this age. Together we work on behavioral and emotional challenges, and I can help parents use parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) techniques to support their child at home.
Therapy for childrenTeens, 12 to 17
School, friendships, self-confidence, and figuring out who you are can pile up fast. Teens get a private place to talk and practical skills they can use the next day, and parents stay informed in ways we agree on together.
Therapy for teensYoung adults, 18 to 35
College, first jobs, moving out, and relationships bring new pressure. Together we work on stress, mood, focus, identity, and the relationships that matter to you.

How it starts
A free 15-minute call
Send a message, and I'll reply within 1 business day to set up a time. We talk about what's going on, how I work, and fees. If I'm not the right fit, I'll suggest someone who is.
A 60-minute first appointment
We get to know each other, make sure we're a good fit, and talk about your goals for therapy. Goals can change at any point. For children and teens, a parent joins this first appointment.
Regular sessions by video
Weekly, every other week, or monthly, from home or anywhere private.
Fees
I'm a self-pay practice. I don't bill insurance directly, but I provide superbills you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. You'll get a written Good Faith Estimate when you schedule.

About Dr. Cross
Starting therapy, especially for the first time, can feel awkward, uncomfortable, or scary, and reaching out is a real first step. You deserve a safe space to process, heal, and grow. I've worked with children, teens, and young adults for more than eight years, including graduate training, and I take a person-centered approach, using evidence-based tools such as CBT and mindfulness. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming.
More about meA welcoming, compassionate, and safe space for all
I spent five years working with children and teens in schools: three during graduate training in New Jersey and two in Florida public schools. There I provided individual and group therapy and conducted psychoeducational evaluations for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
Since spring 2023, I've provided therapy full time by telehealth to children, teens, and young adults working through:
- Behavioral and emotional regulation challenges
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Low self-esteem
- Grief and loss
- School stress and ADHD-related concerns
- Friendship and relationship issues
- Self-identity and self-exploration
- Life transitions, such as graduating, moving, changing careers, or starting a family
An affirming space for everyone
I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ youth, especially transgender and gender-expansive teens, including helping them work through the discrimination they face. Every client can expect an inclusive, affirming space, whether identity is the reason they're here or simply part of who they are.
